Welcome to the campaign website for Lucy Mahon. Why am I running? I am running for Sumter City Council because I am passionate about serving my community and electing leaders who represent ALL people groups. In the last year I have witnessed the digression in South Carolina's representation of woman's voices as well as those of other marginalized groups. That said, while I do think Sumter City Council would benefit from having at least one woman serving, this election is about more than just representation. It is about electing someone who has the capacity to work for positive changes in this community. While there is a lot to love about Sumter, we have serious problems in this community and we need to elect people that are serious about solving them. All my life people have told me they've never seen someone with more energy than me and I am ready to put that energy into action for the people of Sumter.

In short, I am running for City Council because I love Sumter!
